My littlest love,
You are 7 months old now. How is this even a possibility?! Life with you is just so much fun! But you are growing much too fast! The months are flying by even faster than they did with your big brother!
You are currently weighing 18lbs 7oz (56th percentile) & standing 27.5 inches tall (27th percentile). You are in a mix of 6-9 month onesies & pants, more 9 than 6 in onesies & more 6 than 9 in pants. The pants you are growing out of lengthwise rather than weight wise. You are still in 9 month sleepers but on the brink of moving to 12 month for your height (and because that's the size brother had for the Christmas & fleece jammies) You are in size 3 diapers. This is where with Mase we discovered that he was a Huggies boy not a Pampers boy. However, with you we have discovered that you are a Pampers boy, not a Huggies boy. It's odd but I don't like the way the Huggies smell.
Your reflux has just continued to get better! We are thinking about adding milk back into Mama's diet & trying to reduce some of your reflux medicine. You haven't shown any signs of reflux lately, it could be the medicine or it could be you outgrowing your reflux which would be a blessing.
You are still drinking Mama's milk mixed in with table food. This month was a sweet month for Mama's heart. For months now you have preferred a bottle to nursing but this month you have actually started to go back to nursing which I just love!! You don't seem to get distracted like you used to. I was actually able to nurse with a cover at Disney & it didn't seem to bother you at all! You don't seem distracted while taking a bottle anymore, however you still prefer them just from Mama.
You are loving table food more and more these days. Some of your favorites we have added this month are yogurt, spaghetti, meat of any kind, asparagus & surprisingly granola bars. The granola bars were actually introduced to you by brother. One morning I had gone to the bathroom and came back to you gnawing on a granola bar brother had gifted to you.
As far as a schedule you have actually started to become pretty routine! Not necessarily in the times but in your wake times. You wake up in the morning between 6 & 7 & go to bed between 6 & 7. These are 2 constants that don't change. Beyond that your wake windows are about 2 hours. Your first morning nap is between 45-60 minutes, you take about a 2-2.5 hour afternoon nap and your last nap is another short 45-60 minutes.
I'd love to say you're sleeping through the night....BUUUUTTTTT you aren't. Our Disney trip did not help things out at all as we tried to soothe you as soon as you made a sound as to not wake Mason. This has really hurt us in your ability to just put yourself back to sleep in between sleep cycles. With Mason we were so concerned about him sleeping through the night but for some reason with you we just aren't as worried about it. I don't know if we just know it will happen, are too tired to care, or just enjoying the snuggles and quiet times with you. Whatever it is, you're welcome to start sleeping all night whenever you want. haha!
You are officially a CRAWLER! You started officially crawling when we were in Disney. I think watching your cousin Maggie crawl around finally taught you just what to do. You're loving your new found ability to be on the move. You have also started sitting up in your crib when you wake up. This isn't a huge milestone but it sure catches us off guard to walk in to get you and you're sitting there looking at us. You're also able to stand while holding on to something. You aren't pulling up but you're holding your weight.
You are still just so stinking HAPPY!! I hope this is part of your personality that always stays with you. The number one thing that anyone who spends any time with you says is: "he's just the happiest baby!" You truly are! One thing that I have noticed in your personality is that you like to be out and about doing things like your Daddy does. On days that you might be a little grouchy we can head out on an outing and your grouchiness seems to be cured instantly. I think you just like a good change of scenery every now & then. While being the happiest little man ever, you still have that keen ability to go from zero to 60 if you are hungry or tired.
Just like I have said every month, you're favorite guy is still Mase. You & brother are really starting to develop a real relationship & bond. It has been so much fun to watch! He can't stand when you're sad or crying and he is one of the main things that truly light up your face. I cannot believe I was ever worried about how you & Mason would get along when I had you, each day you guys just surpass every expectation I ever had. Mason has truly learned your cues! When you cry he will tell me exactly what you need and he is always right! Whether it be a bottle, a nap, a paci or just for me to hold you. You start to cry and he yells "MAMA!! HE NEEDS _____." He is also becoming a VERY protective brother! You will go right away to anyone but he is very hesitant about letting you. He lets everyone know that you are HIS brother & they can't have you. He even goes to the length of letting people know what things are yours. When I took you guys to MOPS this month he had a meltdown that he couldn't be in your class to take care of you. You are a very lucky little guy, I know you will have a protector & best friend all of your life in Mason.
While Mase is your favorite, you're becoming more of a Daddy's boy every day! Your face truly lights up and you reach for him when he comes home at the end of the day. I think this is your way of saying oh thank goodness!! Someone else's face to look at!!!
