Dear Liam 8 Month Edition

My little Liam Love,
You are 8 whole months & reaching milestones faster than ever!
You are weighing in at 19lbs 1oz (52th percentile) and standing 27.5 inches tall (27th percentile). You are in size 3 diapers still, size 4 over night diapers. You are wearing 9 and 12 month sleepers. The 9 fit you but the 12 are a little more roomie so we have been putting you in the 12 months more often. However, they are still a bit long for you. You are in 9 month onesies & a mix of 6 to 9 month pants. You are finally filling out the waist of your 6 month pants but they are starting to get a bit short.
This month has been exciting for Mama!! I got to add dairy back into my diet! We are still dabbling if this is bothering you or not. You aren't showing signs of reflux with it but you do seem a little grumpier at night. After Christmas we are planning to start toying with your reflux medicine to see if we can stop it or decrease it.
You are still drinking Mama's milk. You will nurse in the mornings between 4am and 5am, take a 6 ounce bottle mid morning, 6 ounce bottle mid afternoon & 7-8oz before bed. You also will nurse periodically throughout the day. We really don't have a set schedule for any of it, we just go off of your cues & this seems to be a pattern you have developed.
You love food & aren't afraid to try anything. With brother he was bothered by lots of different textures. He couldn't stand anything in casserole or mushy consistency. You don't really care the consistency you just care about the food. You have had baby food pouches a couple of times in a pinch. You don't mind them but don't love them. You really have taken to eggs, meatballs & apples this month. We don't really eat a huge variety of food in our house rather we kind of just eat the same things, I know we need to get better at that for you.

This month you got your first tooth!! It took about 2-3 weeks to come in & I think I can feel the next tooth coming.  I think from the way things feel you are getting your 2 bottom teeth. I have been expecting them any day for about a week now. You seem to be like brother. Your teeth seem to take forever to come in and you absolutely hate getting them.
You are pulling up on absolutely everything. You started to do this pretty quickly after crawling. It started with mostly just pulling up on Mama & Daddy but now it is whatever you can use to make you stand up. This really doesn't surprise me as you have always preferred to stand rather than sit. You are also just starting to cruise the furniture. We have tried to get you to walk behind your walker, but you seem to be more interested in the different textures and toys on it.

You've actually developed yourself quite a nice little schedule here. It took about 8 months but you've been my go with the flow boy. You wake up for the day between 6-7 and your first nap of the day is at 9. This is a short nap lasting between 45-60 minutes. Your next nap is at 12. This nap is your longer nap ranging from 2-2.5 hours. Your last nap is at 4 lasting about 45-60 minutes and then you go to bed between 6:30-7. Normally closer to 7. Your wake time is generally about 2 hours but lately you've been stretching it closer to 2.5 hours. I know it should be changing to around 3 hours any time. Right now I am really enjoying that you and brother have the same afternoon nap times though!

Still cannot report that you are sleeping through the night. Disney World did a NUMBER on your sleep son! Because we were all in the same room we intervened quickly as to not wake Mason. When we came back we had to do the crying for 2 hours at night. we would go in every 5, 10, 15 minutes but you were so used to us helping you get back to sleep that you had forgotten how to do it. You've gotten better but still aren't quite back to normal. We are a little guilty of keeping you up past your wakeful window which I know means not the best sleep. Lots of nights though you don't wake up until 4 for a feeding. This is 10 hours so it's really not bad, however, I know waking up before 5am is not considered sleeping all night. This month Daddy and I realized that in true form you and Mason have been opposites in this. Mason struggled to put himself to sleep but once he was asleep he stayed asleep. You have never struggled to put yourself to sleep but you struggle to put yourself back to sleep if you wake up. We know you will get there. And we vow to not travel again for a very very very long time! Or to get 2 hotel rooms if we do!

Your personality is really starting to develop more and more with every passing month. You're still our happy little boy! You are starting to prove more quiet than brother was. You will contently just sit quietly playing but once you are done or you need something you've got quite a set of lungs on you. You are a people person. You love to see, smile & interact with anyone you come in contact with! You haven't technically said your first word yet, however, when you are wanting us to come in your room at nap or night Daddy & I SWEAR it sounds like you say Mama & Mommy. So I'm taking that happily as your first word. :)
I have talked endlessly each blog at your love for your brother but I seriously had no idea what was to come! This month has been my absolute positive favorite in terms of your bond with Mason. You've always lit up when he has come around but this month you 2 have really started interacting and playing with each other. Because you can crawl now you two will chase each other through the house. Mason is always yelling behind him "come on brother!!" You both love to take off to Mason's bedroom or the guest bathroom and I can just hear the sweetest belly laughs between you two. I never ever imagined that I would get to see these moments between you 2 this early. I hope and pray that you two are always the best of friends. It's in this moment as I type about these moments you 2 share that I feel incredibly blessed that your Daddy works so hard to let me stay home and experience these moments with you.

You're becoming more of a Daddy's boy every day. However, you don't really care for Mama to get too far out of your sight. You're really a pretty even mix of Mama & Daddy's boy. I'm holding on to this as long as I can as I've lost brother to being a Daddy's boy years ago!

Exciting things this month:
*Pop's surprise 60th birthday party

*You were baptized
*You met Santa

*You celebrated Big Webster Christmas

*You celebrated Little Webster Christmas

Liam, you bring more joy to our lives than you will ever know! You just radiate joy and happiness! Your smile brightens every day & reminds me to see the joy in my own life. I love you more than life!
Love,
Mommy
