Dear Liam,
Happy 6 months little man!! Truth be told you are 7.5 months but I am bound and determined to continue to blog your life! Even if I get behind now & then. Lucky for Mama I have documented with tons of pictures so I'm able to remember it all.
You are currently weighing in at 17lbs 10oz (53rd percentile), standing at 26.75 inches (56th percentile) & your little noggin is 42 cm (14th percentile). This month you moved up to a size 3 diaper & a size 4 night diaper. Your clothing sizes haven't changed this month. You are still in 9 month sleepers, 6 month onesies & 6 month pants. Unfortunately while the pants fit you length wise they fall off your little booty. Mostly we enjoy our times in sleepers.
The world of chiropractor & reflux has continued to get better for you! This month we transitioned you off of one of your reflux medicines. You are now only taking prevacid! This is a huge victory for us as we had tried it before & it didn't go well for you. We were also able to stop taking prevacid 3 times daily & just take it morning and night. We are thinking about trying to wean you from your 2nd medicine when we return from Disney World in December.
You are still drinking Mama's milk but this month we got to start some table food & you LOVE IT!!! In fact, you love it so much that when we introduced it you tried to stop drinking Mama's milk for the 1st couple of weeks. But you're back to loving yourself so milk & table food. You still like it to be quite & prefer to take a bottle. If I think about it enough it makes my heart a little sad that you don't want to nurse, but I'm just happy you're able to enjoy my milk still.
Back to table food. Little man you LOVE to eat!! There really hasn't been anything we have put in front of you that you don't like & some of your favorites are a little odd for a baby but you love them. Your favorites are broccoli, asparagus, zucchini fritters, cauliflower, eggs, peanut butter, bread. You only thing you haven't really been crazy about are avocados & carrots. But you've still eaten them.
Schedule....hahaha! Little man we just roll with whatever you are feeling. This was so out of my comfort zone for the longest time but you have proven time and again you are not a schedule boy. The only part of your schedule that is consistent is you like to go to sleep by 6pm and you are awake by about 5:30-6am. The time in between is just whatever you decide to make it. Witching hour is still a legit thing around here. Between 4:30-6 we've put a lot of miles on that umbrella stroller.
When you sleep you are definitely a side or tummy sleeper. If I put you to bed and you're just too tired to care you will fall asleep on your back but for the most part you are on your tummy. You have also mastered the skill of getting yourself stuck in between the bars of your crib so we had to find a baby proof crib liner to keep your little rolls from getting caught between the bars.
This month you have perfected your art of sitting up. You have the best posture too! You absolutely love to be sitting, you even insist on sitting at your play mat these days. You have also mastered the art of rolling over from back to front AND from front to back again! Yay!!! This just means you're a little ninja rolling all around the living room & your crib now. You're trying hard to crawl. As a matter of fact you are DETERMINED to crawl & it's very frustrating to you that it doesn't just come naturally.
Every day you look more and more like your DADDY!! However, you've still got Mama's blonde hair. And while I'd like to say your still 110% a Mama's boy, your heart sure does get happy when you see Daddy. You still refuse to take a bottle from anyone but Mama & don't like anyone else to put you down for a nap or night.
You truly are one of the happiest smiling babies. We get comments about this wherever we go. You really are quite content with life & are very go with the flow. However, when you decide you're tired with an activity, ready for a bottle or ready for a nap you will go from content to ticked off in about 2 seconds. Patience my son, you definitely have the patients of a Webster.
As for your best friend, it's still Mason 100%!! Your face lights up like no other when you can find him in a room. And for reasons unknown to me, you don't mind a bit when brother tries to crawl all over and tackle you. You just smile contently and giggle. I know secretly you're plotting your revenge whenever you are bigger. Brother has learned your cues as well. He is able to tell me if you're ready for a bottle, if he thinks it's your nap time or if you need a paci. He is happy to help out most of the time, especially getting you a paci. However, if you cry too loud for that paci he will throw it to you from a distance and you're on your own to figure out getting it in your mouth.
Liam Hayes, you are one of our biggest blessings! Your happy & sweet spirit fill my days with so much happiness. You were absolutely everything that I never knew I needed! I love you more than you'll ever know!!
Love,
Mommy
