Dear Mason: 9 months

Dear Mason,
Happy 9 months baby boy! This month has been a very big, fun & exciting month for you. You have accomplished so many milestones and your personality is really shining through.

You are weighing in at 20 pounds 5 ounces (56th percentile) and measuring 27 inches (6th percentile). .You are still wearing size 3 diapers. We also had to put away the last of your 6th month clothes and you are officially in all 9 month clothes.
You are becoming more and more interested in food & trying new things. You will pretty much try anything that we put in front of you. Every morning you start off with waffles with daddy.
A steady favorite for you seems to be beef stew. This month some of the things you've tried are: alligator, corn dogs, spaghetti, enchilada soup, salsa chicken, corn casserole. Spaghetti, enchilada soup & corn casserole became a fast favorite.

You've been very interested in daddy's coffee every single day so one morning we decided fine just take a sip because you will hate it....well of course it backfired and you enjoyed it so we are getting you your own coffee cup to drink pretend coffee with with dad for Christmas.

We have been decreasing your reflux medicine this month and you have been doing great so far! We are praying that you continue to do well & we can stop the reflux medicine all together. Your pediatrician also wants mommy to start introducing dairy products into my diet to see if you have outgrown your dairy allergy. We are praying that you have!

You still have zero teeth little one. Everyone always thinks that you are teething because you are such a drooly boy but nope, no signs or symptoms of teeth.

Last month you had just mastered crawling this month. This month you've mastered crawling with speed. You are seriously EVERYWHERE!!!

Last month you were also trying to start pulling up. This month you are pulling up on every single thing you can find. You are also trying to walk on us. You will stand behind you walking toy and walk across the living room. You will also walk across the couch and the windows. I'm afraid that you are going to be walking very soon.

You have shown just how independent & like your daddy you are this month. Most times you would rather us leave you alone and let you explore and investigate how things work than try to engage in playing with you. You still like when we play with you but much of the time you will crawl off to go explore on your own. I know independence is a good quality to have and I do appreciate it when I need to get stuff done. But it also makes me very sad that you aren't needing me as much. You are great at letting me know when you are tired, hungry or even when it's time for your next breathing treatment. You will crawl up into my lap and either lay your head down, try to eat or just sit still to indicate what you are wanting. This could be completely coincidental.

You are very into things that have wheels, not because they can roll or you can push them around. You will turn over whatever toy you have that has wheels and just investigate and spin the wheels for the longest time!

This month you've discovered your tongue. You started out by smacking your lips together over and over and laughing at the sound it made. Now you moved on to your tongue. You will sit and click your tongue with the most proud look on your face.

The 3 of us seem to keep passing around this cold that we had last month. We will all get better & then one of us will get it and we all go down quickly. Sadly, every time you get a cold it goes straight into your little chest and you start wheezing really bad. We were introduced to breathing treatments for you this month to help with that. You honestly take them like a champ. There are times when you get a little grumpy but for the most part you will just sit in mommy's lap and watch tv while you take your treatment. We took you into the pediatrician for you last bout of wheezing and we discovered you had your first ear infection. I wanted to cry. Mommy & daddy both had lots of ear infections growing up and it has been my continued prayer that you don't go through that too. We were completely shocked that you had one though because you weren't fussy, didn't wake up at night, you basically were the same baby just wheezing a lot.

Exciting things this month:
*You went to see the Christmas lights at Rhema where Mommy & Daddy got engaged
*We celebrated Big Webster Christmas
 *We celebrated Little Webster Christmas

*You started pulling up in your crib
*You saw your first snow

You sure have grown and changed so much since I first started this blog about you sweet boy! No matter how big you get, or how independent you become. You will always be our baby! We love you more than you know!
Love,
Mommy & Daddy
